We’re all in this together
Klal Yisroel banding together to help its orphans.
Creating a group of 14,286 members is a unique way of bringing klal yisroel together, b’achdus, all with one goal – to help one another. When we’re all in the same boat it is also so much more acceptable to be a recipient of something everyone is a part of. So aside for the shame that is being avoided by eliminating the public appeals for orphans, the disgrace of having to be the recipients of handouts which for some people is humiliating, is avoided as well.
